We’re Back!

After a short break for the Summer, the Oasis Centre has re-opened this week, and we have hit the ground running with loads going on.

EvERY ONE COUNTS

The Oasis Centre is a community of people with a heart to see lives changed for the better. Every person has a story, and every person has a life worth living, no matter what pain they have suffered. Many people can't move on with their lives without first finding confidence, friendship, acceptance and value. That's why we are here!

The Oasis Centre has re-opened after the summer, and we have a packed program. Whether you just want to pop in for a cuppa, get a bargain from our charity shop or learn new skills on one of our courses, the Oasis Centre is here for you!

FACES OLD AND NEW

In July we said good bye to a couple of members of the Oasis Centre team, who have served us well for years - Mike and Stu. This September is a time to say hello to our new team members.

Firstly there is Victoria, who is (of course) not new but is returning to the day-to-day management of the centre, so we will see a lot more of her around for a while.

In addition, we have brought Rich Balmforth onto the team to head up our Re-Start program. Rich has come into the Centre from the private sector. He says, "I wanted to join Oasis because I can see all the great work they do with people. I'm looking forward to being part of the team and meeting all the wonderful people who come through the door."

Also we have added Abi to our crisis support team, Simon in our charity shop and Anna teaching science in education program. Do make a point of swinging by and saying 'hi' if you get the chance.

What's ON?

This September, there is plenty to do at the Oasis Centre:

Group work - A chance to become part of the community and make new friends. On Mondays we have our wellbeing workshop, on Tuesdays is our craft workshop and on Wednesdays it is the gardening club.

EDUCATION - Learn skills that you never knew you had. We are here to help you learn and practice. On Monday mornings it is Maths and Monday afternoons is ESOL. Tuesday afternoons is English, and on Wednesdays it is topic work in the morning and Science in the afternoon. We also run one-to-one basic skills support all day Monday to Wednesday.

SUPPORT AND EMERGENCY PROVISION - Our support team are here to help you with difficult situations you may be facing.

Our Free Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch, and our CHARITY SHOP is open every day Monday to Wednesday.
